What is PSLE
The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) is a national examination in Singapore that is administered by the Ministry of Education and the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) to test how ready our Primary 6 students are for secondary school.
4 main subjects (English, Math, Science and the Mother Tongue language) are being examined and the exams take place during the Term 3 to Term 4 period in all primary schools.
When does PSLE start and end?
The PSLE exam always starts in August.
This remains the same in 2025. Primary 6 students will be tested on their English and Mother Tongue oral first. These papers may coincide with their prelim exams in school.
Other components of the PSLE exams like Listening Comprehension and the written papers will be tested later in September and October respectively.
Depending on whether you’re taking the Higher Mother Tongue exam paper, the PSLE exam can end in September or October.
