Overview of the 2019 Primary 3 Math Syllabus

The 2019 Primary 3 Math Syllabus can be divided into 3 main branches – Numbers, Measurement and Geometry and finally, Graphs.

Numbers

The Primary 3 (P3) topics that are covered under Numbers are Whole Numbers, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Fractions and Money.

WHOLE NUMBERS

1. Add numbers up to 4 digits

SUBTRACTION

1. Subtract numbers up to 4 digits

MULTIPLICATION

1. Count in 6s
2. Count in 7s

5. Multiply up to 3 digits by 1 digit

DIVISION

1. Divide in 6s
2. Divide in 7s
3. Divide in 8s
4. Divide in 9s
5. Divide with remainder
6. Divide up to 3 digits by 1 digit

FRACTIONS

1. Simplify a fraction
2. Compare and order fractions
3. Write equivalent fractions
4. Add 2 related fractions
5. Subtract 2 related fractions

MONEY

1. Add money in decimals
2. Subtract money in decimals

Measurement and Geometry

The Primary 3 (P3) topics that are covered under Measurement and Geometry are Length, Mass, Volume, Time, Angles, Perpendicular and Parallel Lines, 2D Shapes, Area and Perimeter. Refer to the following for the breakdown of the skills in each topic.

LENGTH
